What does "via the bubble" mean ?

If you run a standard coax from RF2 to the 2nd TV, you'll get the same picture there.

You could also do it via RF1, if the first TV is connected via SCART, but RF2 has a power feed that will allow a magic eye to be connected inline at the 2nd TV coax connection, allowing you to change channel from the 2nd room.

This is exactly it. Thanks. I use the RF2 and the magic eye.

Side note I dont know why in the name of god FTA boxes are not made with this facility. ie the magic eye option.

    Thanks Again

You'll need to ensure that the power is on on the rf2 out and that any wall plate allows the power to pass through.

How do i make sure the power is on. as for a wall plate I am not using one I am just running the cable wire straight through the wall to the tele.

    You need to go to

    Services....
    System Setup.....
Press 0 then 1 (or something like that, search the forums and you'll get it).

Then go to the RF2 output and toggle the power output to on.

As i said search the threads and its explained there.

You can used a magic eye with a FTA box with the use of additional equipment such as the newly released TriaX-Link Kit which I have tried out and are absoultely brilliant in my opinion...there a little costly but are easily setup and so are a worthy purchase for anyone trying to achieve this..

    Hi All
i have a magic eye and when i attach it direct to the rf2 out there is power in it but when i attach the coxilx cable to rf2 and the magic eye to the end of the cable there is no power in the magic eye.. any ideas???

    nialloooo, theres several possibilities:

Check there is no shielding strands or metal foil (if its double-shielded) touching the centre wire in the connectors at either end.

Is the cable some old brown coax thats been in the house since the builders left 15-20 years ago? If so, you need to replace it. If possible use satellite-grade double-shielded CT100. Somewhat expensive but will give the best picture quality over long distances and the magic eye should work reliably.

In the Sky box Installers Menu change the RF channel and retune your 2nd TV. Ch.35 is often used by VCRs etc. so avoid by a decent margin.

Hello all, some good answers in this thread. I have the signal going upstairs now but there is some snow on it. Was going to buy this to improve signal from RF2 to bedroom. Will it do?

    Thanking you.

SomeGuy.... unless you're running a very long cable you shouldn't need a signal boost. (most stb's / vcrs do this already AFAIK)

    • Read my advice above re: double-shield coaxial cable & clean connections
    • Try and avoid running the coax near power mains - the alternating current will add noise to the RF signal, especially heavy duty cabling.

Succeded in doing this folks thanks for your help. Had to manually tune the tele as I was using the RF2. Am heading out tomorro to get a sky eye.

Does anyone know if the sky eye requires power. I only have one socket

The Sky Eye is powered via the RF2 output on the box so it doesn't need a 13A socket. Make sure, as mentioned above, that the RF2 power option is switched on.
