    Hi,
Just wondering if anybody can advice on a situation where an employer has made a few people redundant 2-3 months ago (general operatives), which had been working for more than 2 years, but few weeks ago he employed new people?
Is it not against the law? I believe employer did get 60 % rebate money from the Government.

A sham redundancy is an unfair dismissal and an employee can seek redress from the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

Thanks! Can he defend himself by saying that they are only temporary workers? However indeed nobody knows how long they will be working.

He can defend himself lots of ways. Anybody anticipating taking a claim needs to see a solicitor and lodge a claim for Unfair Dismissal.
