I don't where else to put this but I am unable to hold it in.

It has been 12 years since the film came out.

I have seen at least three times.

I have just this minute found out that Bane was a villain in this movie and that was because of a random cracked article.

Was it really that bad? Did I block it all out?

Haha, I can't remember Bane being part of it at all!
I just about remember Robin being in a circus, but I may have made up an alternate, less crap plot in my head to protect my love of Batman...

Robin in the circus was Batman Forever. Batman & Robin should be blocked out, DO NOT attempt to remember it! I've watched it a few times recently in an effort to look at all of the largest flaws, thinking it was maybe an issue of acting plus script but no, the entire thing is a mess. The audio peaks at several points, the wirework is so glaringly obvious it burns! And don't get me started on the inexplicable change in costumes, as Chris O'Donnell said, it's just a toy commercial.

"Watch and learn little boy" - Oh shut the f**k up!

Yeah Bane is in it. Although not for long if I remember correctly. He appeared around when Poison Ivy was being introduced. I really don't remember much about him after he transformed though.

He acts as Ivy's bodyguard and chauffeur. That's it really.

Yeah he's just muscle in the movies. His character is no way as interesting or competant as the one in TAS for example.

Interestingly the guy who played him (wrestler Jeep Swenson) died shortly after the films release.

I remember some kind of freaky hockey sequence. I recall it much the way a really freaky dream recedes from memory when you get out of bed in the morning.

Also, Uma Thurman wasn't sexy as Poison Ivy. How is it possible to put those two things together and the result not be sexy? I'm so confused.

I remember that hockey sequence, it's in the beginning of the movie, and Batsy and Robin have blades that appear outta their boots...

I remember a friend and I had seen it in the cinema and we were sorta justifying the movie to each other..."of course they have blades, when you're Batman you have to think of EVERYTHING..."

    :o

Oh dear. Lost interest at 0:15 and finally stopped it at 0:26. Have never seen this movie and have no intention of ever doing so now.

Who am I kidding? I'll probably download it later today. :D

Is it not hard to tell as he was just in a really sh*t Batman movie?

Reminds me of people who claim Craig is a much better Bond then Brosnan. Put Craig in a Bond film with sh*t CGI sequences, embarrassing innuendo, an INVISIBLE car and f*cking MADONNA and then we'll see just how good a Bond he really is.

The best part I remember was not so much the movie itself, but Dave Fanning interviewing Clooney for (IIRC) The Movie Show.
Your Batman in this movie is a gentler, more caring Batman.

Way to miss the point, scriptwriter.

I refuse to buy this for my DVD collection. I do have it recorded on my DVR for the future enjoyment of simply deleting it when I need a pick me up though.

It made a Clooney a huge star after ER though, yeah he's a shyte Batman and its a terrible, yet hugely entertaining movie, but he's always said without it he wouldnt have a movie career

Fair enough the whole thing was sh*t, I know that, EVERYONE knows that, but even before I saw the movie i couldn't really picture him as a decent Batman...he was a decent enough Bruce Wayne though, even in a pile of cr*p...

At least Kilmer had the potential to be look like he could go nuts, Clooney just spoke safe safe safe to me.

I've actually wanted to watch the director's commentary to BF & B&R every time these movies are brought up, not ars*d buying the special editions though...

Sure isn't there an urban myth that Clooney will personally refund anyone who paid to see the movie?

It was more suited to the 1960's, in fairness.

If it had been released in 196x, Adam West was Batman, Burt Ward was Robin and so on... It would be looked upon fondly as a piece of 1960's Bat-kitsch.

It was pretty awful, but a good laugh in spots

I bought B&R on DVD solely for the extras. Without explicitly doing so out and out, Schumacher pretty much apologises for it but, unfairly I think, he accepts a lot of the blame himself. There's a lot of it on him but not as much as he accepts!

If I remember rightly, they made fun of the above in the Simpsons, when Krusty is the villain and puts batman and robin on a carousel that spins really fast. And they get out of it because he has carousel reversal spray.

Then Krusty says "Is there anything you don't have in that belt?" Batman replies, "Patience, for criminals like you":D

I think that scene in Simpsons was a poke at the shark repellant spray.

Ah, every time I think we've spoken the last words of this abomination, up pops another thread. I recommend everyone see Batman and Robin, it really is so so bad that you just have to watch it to see how much worse it can get. And it delivers.

    Arnie ftw! Ice puns galore.

Unintentional comedy, might be time for my bi-annual viewng :pac:

It was an exploding shark packed with dynamite sent by one of the villans (Joker or Riddler, I can't remember which) to kill Batman

Don't know about that! Would you be happy if the last film you ever saw was Batman & Robin (which lets face it could possibly have been the case for this guy)?
