TNA is Moving to Monday Night

    A decision has been made by TNA and Spike TV to move TNA iMPACT! permanently to Monday nights, reports the The Wrestling Observer.

    The second Monday night iMPACT! is scheduled to air on March 1 following the success of the first Monday iMPACT! on January 4.

    The March 1 episode will air at 9:00 p.m. EST, but the official weekly timeslot has not been confirmed yet.

    The likely taping schedule will be live on Mondays one week, then tape the following week's iMPACT! the next day on Tuesdays.


    Good news for Wrestling, but too quick for TNA?

    Really bad move. They did well on Jan 4th to get such high ratings, but thats because they threw everything they could possibly throw into that one show. They won't be able to do that on a weekly basis. Meanwhile, the first few head to heads seem to be in the run up to Wrestlemania. Seriously? With a fued building up between Bret Hart and Vince, Stone Cold being guest host, and the fact that it's THE RUN UP TO THEIR BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR? SERIOUSLY?

    Really bad move. If they started going head-to-head after WM, great! Keep both companies on their toes etc. But not in the run up to WM where WWE will be trying to pull out all the stops anyway

    Great for fans in that it'll get WWE to take the finger out, but this is going to get very ugly for TNA.

    Dixie said on her twitter the other day that she'd annoucement a TV deal for the uk.

    "Broken iPhone & being out of town has been cause for no updates from me. Look for a UK TV update within days. You will hear it from me 1st."
    That was 20th Jan

    "In London for mtgs. Promised updates on UK TV-will come soon. Working on final details"
    That was 26th Jan

    So I suppose well find out soon enough. (you can follow her @TNAdixie)

    - SpikeTV may have jumped the gun with their announcement about TNA Impact airing on Monday, March 1st. The schedule on Spike.com has been changed. Impact is no longer listed on March 1st at 9 PM. It's been replaced with TBD (to be determined). On a related note, Universal Studios updated the TNA schedule on their website, replacing March 8th and 9th with March 1st and 2nd. Honestly, the change on Spike's website is a case of "too little, too late" since the news of the March 1st Impact is everywhere now. That said, you can't blame TNA for wanting to make the announcement on their terms, and not have it revealed in unspectacular fashion on a SpikeTV schedule.
