Right back in the gym, I have a small frame and I want to get much bigger around chest, arms, torso and shoulders.

Whats the best supplement? I am looking for a decent enough taste, and one that packs in the protein.

I've heard maximuscle is crap, so many say.

I am thinking of an optimum nutrition one?

Personally you need a good quality supplement and you need to have enough that you will not be skimping on it.

I find the best deal is from
    http://www.myprotein.co.uk/
After a good bit of research/reviews I started buying their stuff about a year and a half ago. Its top quality, (the UK RFU use it).

The shipping is very reasonable, heres what i got for about 130 sterling and will easily do me for 6 months, (well maybe not the L-Glutamine)

10kg of choc mint whey protein concentrate, tastes good mixes easily
    1 kg of L-Glutamine
1 kg of Creatine (I only take 5 grams before a workout, so no loading)

The main problem with buying the odd tub from shops here in Ireland is the expense and the amount in it and the quality if it is a cheaper brand.

I have a discount code for 5% off and with the stg rate and cheap postage it works out a very good deal.

You may want other supplements for bulking.

use this code for a 5% discount off your order -- MP42595

There be better sites to get supplements from Id like to hear of them and personal experiences

    Hi T-Rev

I use the ON whey and fine it ok, though they have changed the flavor recently and it tastes a little more syntetic then it used to.

In saying that, these products are a "Supplement" and not a magic powder.

It should be used to supplement a good diet and not used instead of eating real wholesome foods.

So I would advise that you make sure you starting off with a good diet before you add in supplements.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    Best Regards,

    M

I actually think that Mickk (Irish lifting) is €20 cheaper then Nutrition Connection (Westmoreland St) for the 10lb bag of ON Whey at present. Just a heads up.

Out of passing curiosity, what sets them apart for you?.
I.e. why one whey over another?

Are you eating enough? If you want to get bigger you need to eat quite a bit.

If you just want some whey: I'll second the myprotein stuff. Been using it myself for a long time now. Hard to beat in terms of bang for buck.

Yeah I am eating more. Trying to cut out junk food but I am getting there. Making sure to have plenty of eggs, chicken, tuna, & beef in ym daily diet. Snack on nuts during the day and dried fruit. Drinking about 1L of milk a day when I can too.

Its tough going tho trying to eat loads and loads of good protein.

Tut tut,we should be promoting the irish companies;)
I agree with the idea that we shoudl be getting our protein from food sources like chicken ,fish etc but personally not having the time, most of the time, myself to prepare food i find protein shakes are teh most efficient way of getting much needed protein after workouts.
