as part of a new build i m installing an invicta insert stove

my builder has little experience in them and we are wondering regarding the installation of same, or more specifically building around it. it obsiously needs a solid base with the weight of it but how do we build around it??

a steel lintel and build blockwork around it and plaster as normal??

    Thanks in Advance

Hi 1922, yeah should be a solid base and all non combustible material. Not very well up in invicta inserts but if memory serves me they have a castiron flue gather built on as standard so you would need to allow for this during the build. try and get a solid base on the wall where your plastering and use a high temp plaster even so you may still have cracks in the plaster due to the heat. You can see more on my blog about high temp plaster and insert stoves in general through the contact info section.
