    Congrats on the wedding!

    Few things.....
firstly, ALL legal ceremonies in Turkey are civil as religious ceremonies are not legally recognised.
Secondly, you will need to apply to get your 'certificate of non-impediment'. If your partner is Irish they will also need this. If they are Turkish they won't.

You also need blood tests and to register with the councils. The blood tests have to be done in Turkey.

Finally, Turkish wedding ceremonies are VERY plain - basically the registrar asks each partner if they want to marry the other person, they answer yes, then sign the registry and thats it! You will need to speak to the respective registrar if you want more than this, and you might be lucky and get one to agree, but it is unusual, so its a gamble. You will also need a registered translater unless you both speak Turkish.

As I think of more stuff I'll let you know......

PS, Turkish weddings are quite different to the Irish format, so if you are having an 'Irish' wedding then you will find it difficult to get hotels/florists/ etc to understand your requirements! There is a Northern Irish girl in Kusadasi who is a wedding planner and she will be able to hold your hand through it all and knows the Turkish requirements and also the Irish preferences! She is based in Kusadasi but she can arrange weddings along the Aegean Coast, so not restricted to that area only.
