    Hi all,

I'm thinking of signing up to sky digital, have NTL but had enuff of them, rang the Sky sales line in Cork but got sumone in Scotland who I couldnt understand, My mate told me liffey valley has a sky shop.

I tryed to sign up online but it wanted to charge me €37.50 for having no phoneline, so I rang the sky shop in liffey valley the guy there said he dosen't charge the 37.50 for having no phoneline plus if i signed up with him before the 27th of jan he give me a free sky+ box?

Free sky+ box that good deal?

Yeah it's good. They charge €30 to install. Not charging the non-landline fee is part of the special offer for Ireland at the moment.

Yes the young chap in sky liffey valley quoted me €30 for installation plus free sky+ box plus first month free also if i take either movies or sports. He said he would get me installed quicker then if I go direct through sky.

They install normally on day seven from ordering, provided you've recieved your viewing card and most of the time a customer has.

Sky changed the offer today. The Sky+ is now €49 and €30 install but what they are doing is giving Sky+HD for the same price without having to take the HD Sub. If you do take the HD Sub, Sky+HD is free and €30 install.

Rang sky today and they've told me they no longer do standard boxes, only HD boxes. Problem is we can't get a HD box because the apartment we are moving into is only wired for standard and can't be changed.
They also told me you can get multi room without a landline which is a disaster cos we don't plan on getting a phoneline but want multi room! :(

Well, if you go to a local guy you'll have more chance of him having time to do the extra work. And you'll be able to disscuss the job, cost etc before he comes out.
