    Is that the escort GTI?

If so it had the record for the slowest GTI for many years.

If it helps (it wont), I was offered a 1.4 escort(same year) for free once and i refused.

They are mostly worthless now. How much are you planning on paying for this?
The quickest 1.8 still wasnt quick.

The Si is just a ghia model excluding the fake wood trim. The GTi was basicaly an Si with an RS2000 factory bodykit. No rear disks or anything! Same noisy engines as standard escort lx's, glx's. Very poor GTi at that. In fact it was sh!te no offense... Ireland got the 1.6 GTi and the UK got the 1.8 GTi. Imagine how slow the irish VRT basher was? A chap I went to skool with had one, it looked great back in the day but it was crap and he knew it. It came in 3dr, 5dr & estate versions with these horrid 3 spoke alloy wheels. Don't waste your money unless it is very very cheap...
