I was thinking of purchasing a ICS Sig 552 and was wondering if anybody had one and what they thought of it or any issues.

I know the battery supposed to be a tight fit, what type of battery did you install?

Im not sure whether to wait for the G&G version (shame about the 30 rnd mag tho)

The only version of the 552 in airsoft i'v seen looked realy realy fake
so i'd consider it abit more as im a big fan of this gun aswell.
and the realism of it put me off.

I had the TM version of the 552 Commando / Seal. It was my first AEG!

It does seem that whichever version you get the plastics just seemed the wrong colour, which can make it look like something bought from Smiths. :o

I sprayed it black and it looked at lot better TBH, the battery is very tight, but just unscrew the little plate it sits on and kept the 8.4v it came with and it was a much better fit.

I not sure about the other makes, but the TM version is a REAL screamer, but it has a fairly high ROF and although sometimes difficult to get, high cap & mid cap mags are available. Also, you might need to get a RIS rail for the upper receiver, if you want to fit optics etc. But the 3 RIS on the front are a gift. :D

If some mean spirited criminal type hadn’t stolen it from the boot of my car, I’d be still using it today.:(

The ICS has a metal body and trades as its fully licensed. Looks really nice.

Use an 11.1v LiPo. it will or should handle it and LiPo bats are smaller and come in a few different shapes.

EDIT: Sorry not an 11.1v try the 7.4v ones. You most likley will need to do some internal work for the 11.1s.

i was going to suggest that was not sure if the gun was capable to take one, and it would be fairly **** if it didnt but you used one.

a 8.4v mini or a 7.4v 2200mha lipo will fit in without issue, lipo is of course only an option if you have a lipo charger
