Price of audit - small company

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the average cost of using one of the smaller auditors to audit a very small company? Would you know the process involved in hiring one of these sets of auditors?

    This company has not been audited for over 5 years as it qualifies for the small company exemption but their bank requires audited accounts if they are to provide the company with loan facilities in the future.

    Any advice is welcomed

    Hi

    It would depend on the extent of the books and records, the nature and size of the business. This would determine the amount of time and work necessary and the fee required to cover costs and make a reasonable return.

    Would you have the names of any small auditors that might be able to do this relatively cheaply e.g. 2-4k?

    I can only find big or medium sized audit firms when I look into them

    Hi,

    Ger Cullinane, J Neenan & Co, Cork, would be the place to go. I used to work for Ger and he has numerous small companies in his portfolio in the price range you are looking for.

    He also has several clients in Dublin so distance is not a problem. Initially your books and records can be e-mailed to him if prepared on computer, or alternatively you can use a courier to send the documentation.

    Seriously, if you are based in Dublin I would not use an auditor from Cork. Alot of extra hassle for you. There are loads of small firms in Dublin. If you ring them up you can set up a meeting and discuss fees and so on.

    I know of one in based in Santry. PM me if you would like details.
