Wildfowling below the high water mark in Scotland is in most cases free. You should check out the web sites.

I trying to join one too. I e mailed the NARGC who put me in touch with the rep for my county. I rang him, clubs won't be taking new members until the season is over. He said he would make contact with my local club on my behalf, my understanding is the clubs will have their AGM when the season is over and that is when they look at new members. I'm open to correction on this. Anyway I was told to ring him again about the middle of next month if nobody has contacted me. Maybe you could try that, as well as asking at your local dealer about contacts.

Thats kind of standard, you join for the season, there's no point in joining when the season is nearly over. If you make your case to them that you want to join the club, I don't know to get your gun licence we'll say, then they might let you join late in the season. Its all about who you talk to try someone else on the committee, you might have more luck.

Yeah I see the point of it, understandable. I moved up here 6 years ago, I'm a endurance runner, it took me years of waving to anyone in a tractor to get the written permissions. That's also understandable, nobody up here knew me. The thing is I don't know anyone in the club either, the nearest to me is in the next parish. However, hopefully I'm one step further with the process.
