DVR - Philips TV Question

Hi there, I'm trying to get the UPC Thompson (silver) dvr box to work with the so called universal remote I recieved with a Philips 42pfl9664 tv. The TV does not seem to recognise the unit at all. Any ideas? Thanks

I have the same problem with a Philips Universal remote control. Did you get it working?
