Focus on the cost to trade up price, that is all that matters.

Yup it's the cost to change price that matters. Some dealers might give you €6K some €9K it all depends how much play they have on the A4 they're selling you.

I wouldn't travel to Dublin to buy an Audi. Dublin Audi dealers aren't worth talking to.

I was looking at buying an A4 S-Line last year in a northside Audi dealer. Went in one day and got a price of €26,000 plus my own (€50,000 all in - all singing all dancing high end A4). Went back a few days later and the guy I was looking for wasn't around but tried to do a deal with another guy there - he was looking for €30,000 plus my own. That's €4k of a difference in like 3 days!! They hadn't got a clue about their pricing.

It's cost to change that matters..

Yip its cost to change, bottom line. Thats what you will be looking at if you are going to trade with a dealer.
It's hard to value your car without seeing it, and as a poster said, its the wriggle-room that the dealer will have on the car you are trading against.
Phone calls and appointments for you I'm afraid.
