Do you prefer a medium/long run or a fast run?

Bad day in work and sitting here wondering which i'd enjoy more after work- a nice medium/long relaxing run (8miles) to clear the head or a good fast (5k).

which run do you prefer/get most satisfaction from?

An aerobic 10 miler, with a decent radio station / some tunes and a good view.

Haven't had a bad day myself, but given I haven't been out since Thurs (bar 5-a-side last night, you lazy piece of .....), I'm thinking of punishing myself with a decent 12 miler.

Yep I'm doing Wednesday too. Sure what else would ya be doing on a Weds night apart from running around a housing estate like a lunatic?!

Would prefer the longer run in general, though I took the short fast option tonight in a rush to get home and get a shower before our water is cut off!

    I love a bit of 5k, can't go wrong:cool:
...except when you've been jogging to many times, been lazy with streches, get shin splints, aren't able to jog for a week, so you start posting on boards instead:D

given the time and the conditions I'd go for a nice long run at an easy pace every time. Nothing like feeling you could run forever on a crisp sunny morning. That said, if it's sh1tty out I'll take a fast 5 miler.

Definitely the 8 miler. I always feel better after a longer run (probably because it's at a slower pace :D)

Definitely the longer one. Had my most enjoyable run since Cork-Cobh on Sunday morning: 1 mile warmup, 9 miles tempo then 2 1/2 miles warm down. Tempo section felt great and I was a beacon of joy for the rest of the day (or a pain in the arse depending on your point of view ;) )
