If You Could Only Choose One Discography...

    From A) One solo emcce
And B) One group OR duo

    Who's would you choose??

For the solo emcee ill go with Masta Ace. Not my favorite emcee, but I think he has the best solo discog in hip hop.
I find all of his albums enjoyable, and you could argue that he got better with each one.

Take A Look Around is one of the last great albums dropped by a Juice Crew member, Slaughthahouse is a personal favorrite of mine, and Disposable Arts and A Long Hot Summer are the best concept albums in hip hop for me.

When Sittin' on Chrome is your weakest album, you know you've got a pretty solid catelogue:)

For the group/duo I was going to go with the Wu, but I just can't look past Outkast.
To me, their first 4 albums are classics. They changed their style with every release, their sound constantly evolved, but these risks always paid off.

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik has that classic Southern feel to it, but ATLiens is just surreal, and to me that album is the lyrical peak of Outkast.
Aquemini and Stankonia are so creative, but both albums flow perfectly.
When the Speakerboxxx/Love Below dropped, it had a massive impact over here, I can't remember a hip hop album taking over like that did.
Back in the summer of '03 you couldn't walk down the street without hearing ''Hey Ya'' blasting from somebody's car!

By the way, is Aquemini the most ambitious hip hop album ever?
    I think so.

Without even thinking about it for

    B) Outkast (although when i start to think about it Wu Tang would be the only other consideration). I am also taking personal responsibilty for introducing the world (or area where i worked :) ) to Outkast prior to Ms. Jackson dropping as i used to play it a lot in the vid store where i worked. Aquemini is the best album i've ever heard

For A) i think i have to go with Murs, as i constantly listen to 3:16, Murrays Revenge and The End of the Beginning over and over and never get sick of any of them and the majority of the rest of his work is top quality

2Pac's for sure. Even most of his unreleased stuff is top notch.

As for group? I'm not that sure...

OutKast for best group. I just love all their stuff, though J5 and Nappy Roots would be close.

For solo artist, em...Dre. Two albums, both classics. For someone who's done more, I'd say Ice Cube for his earlier stuff. He put together some great albums in short spaces of time.

For the group I'd go with The Roots, which is a tough choice because it means shunning so many groups. I'd rather pick two groups than a solo artist discog.

For a solo artist I'd probably have gone with Biggie if he had a larger discog so it's probably between Nas and Jay-Z and if a gun was put to my head I'd say.... Nas.

I've been thinking about this for a few days now and at times standing staring at my collection scratching my temple and rubbing my chin.

    Solo Artist - Buck 65
Hugh discography and each album is dope. They have a mix of beats, cutting rapping, uptempo, slow, storys, tales, yarns, good times, etc....
Vertex is one of my favorite albums also.
I could listen to Buck 65 all day and not get bored.

    Group - Atmosphere
This was a tough choice, Roots, Outkast, Doomtree, ATCQ, Wu where all strong contenders. But the reason Atmosphere takes it is because when a new album drops, I intentionally go out to but it. The other groups wouldnt compel me to get off my lazy ar$e and get to a record shop....well maybe except for Doomtree stuffm but they just dont have enough albums yet.
Atmosphere have a solid discog and like Buck 65, thier sound grows and evolves with each album and each one sounds different (in a good way).

For Atmosphere and Buck 65, i dont think that there is a song that i would skip on any of thier albums and there is always something to listen to in what they are saying.

i get the feeling that after writing this, i'm going to remember someone else and ammend this post.
