    Lads,

Did a retune of TV on Friday and picked up ch52 Irish DTT. Checked again last night and still being received. PQ and and signal strength is good. Anyone any idea where the transmission is coming from? Has Forth Mountain relay started DTT transmissions? Mt Leinster is the usual source (Ch39 and 49 at the mo). Aerial is pointing to Preseli so that's not going to help. Thanks.

Do you reckon it could be? Seems like bit of a distance for what is supposed to be a low power site...

Whereabout in Wex town are you, satdog?

I 'm surprised that it could be Suir Valley as there are plenty of hills in between. I'm about 3 miles SW of the town. On a bit of a height so I suppose that helps. If you know the area it's on the road to Johnstwon Castle.

Well you could be picking up Forth Mt. if it is on. That particular area, is I'm guessing a bit of a difficult spot for Mt. Leinster as it is sheltered by Whiterock.

What is the signal strength like??

Yes it could be Forth Mt. Same set of frequencies as allocated to Suir Valley and it was one of the sites tendered for upgrade last Feb.

If so its the third site to be upgraded from that list that we know of, Suir Valley and Waterford being the other two.

I'm above Whiterock. I can see Mt Leinster (from the rooftop) and Forth Mountain is slighty left of that. % signal strength is not indicated on the Philips TV but is given as "good". As I said above my only UHF aerial is pointing to Preseli so Irish DTT (and TV3 and TG4 analogue) is coming in off the side of it. Speaking of analogue - I've noticed lately that the reception especially, RTE1 and 2 is crystal clear these days - nearly DTT quality.

I pick up Woodcock Hill DTT the same way, with aerial pointing to Mullaghanish.

Nothing coming in on CH52 from leinster outskirts of Enniscorthy clear line of sight to mast i am just after setting up an Aerial. Rf ch39 signal strong, rf ch45 signal medium,
rf ch49 signal medium and rf ch52 no signal.

We're guessing that Ch52 is coming form either Suir Valley or Forth Mountain (outside Wexford town).

RTE doesn't broadcast VHF or UHF analogue from Forth Mt. so it would be a totally new install - perhaps on one of the existing masts. Although the one for MMDS is pretty full.

It could be Suir valley extending east, if you can see Mt. Leinster. I know in parts of that area, Tipp FM (103.9) does belt in - which would suggest it is getting through the Suir Valley and with little to hinder it once it gets passed New Ross.

Forth Mt. should get into Enniscorthy (higher parts) as SERadio on 96.4 does hit parts of the town, and certainly the south of the town.

If it is Suir Valley the transmission it is just missing the mountain (to the left) at JFK Park outside New Ross. Looking at a map I can't see any other obvious obstructions. Incidently Suir Valley is West and Preseli is East and I'm bang in the middle.

Just did a further check on Suir Valley fenquencies. I can also get Ch 60 and 66, nothing on 56 though. I think it can be safely said then that it is Suir Valley. Using these frenquencies there is no chance of interference from Preseli.
