    cool,
although I was specifically asking about the receiver that was mentioned in the original thread ;)

hopefully, cash will still be king, given that it is a long drive up there also !

    HI MrTrebus.

It was worth a shot asking :D but the best price at the moment would be our website price of £219.95 / 259.99 Euro for the silver finish.
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/onkyo/txsr507/onky-txsr507-sil

Black version would cost £229.95 / 269.99 Euro
    https://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=930&Mode=0&productid=897&Results=true&keys=507%20

    hey,
ya gotta ask these things ;)

why is there a dfference in the price of the units just cause of the color though ?
you wouldnt pay extra for a car cause its a different color for example (metallic paint excluded of course !! )

does your price match policy apply to "foreign" websites also, eg Germany or France or USA even ??

    cheers

    Hi MrTrebus.

The price match would apply to any website:
"We will happily price beat against other web retailers (must include next day P&P when products can't be collected) as long as we can verify stocks"

We would need the website's to have contact numbers so we can call to verify stock levels.
"All that we ask is that the product be brand new, boxed and actually in stock at time of purchase"

When it comes to the difference in price I think that it is because the Sivler is less popular than the Black finish so Onkyo reduce the price on the Silver a little to try and sell more of them.

I hope this makes things a bit more clearer.

    okay,
    thanks for that.

if it came down to a straight choice, which would you pick, bearing in mind I have a 5.1 setup (Marantnz SR4200 bought from your store in Dublin many moons ago ;) ) at the min and no plans for a 7.1 anytime soon

    A. Onkyo TXSR507 or
    B. Denon AVR1610

its a small enough living room with a Samsung LE40B620,Xbox360 and a Dreambox/Sly HD box!!!

Cant figure out which one would be best !!
I would like to run the DB through it but it has no component out feature, only a scart and an optical output

    cheers

    HHHMMM!!

Its a hard choice between the two.

I would lean towards the Onkyo as I use one myself (605). Although the Denon are also a cracking amp. The Denon would perform better for music if a CD player was connected to it.

Onkyo 507 priced at 269.99 Euro.
Denon AVR1610 priced at 329.99 Euro.

Both are in stock and ready to roll in the Black finish.
