helmet rule clarification

    can anyone tell me if a player is allowed to take off their helmet whilst taking a free and put it back on straight away after

    Not according to the Indepedent today you can. The ref had given the Wicklow guy the all-clear to take the free because it was a break in play, but the GAA are saying it must be worn at all times on the pitch, whether it be training, pre-game warm-ups or any time during the match itself.
