When I try putting gas in my M1 the gas just travels straight out the barrel.
Anyone any ideas, is it a seal or something. Not confident technically enough with gas guns(especially with the M1).
    Help Please and much obliged!!

Hold it fully cocked and see if that makes any difference., you might be having a valve problem, their not actually that difficult to work on.,:)

I've still got your original one hanging on the wall - let me know if you need parts. Or indeed if you want us to look at it.

Ha, Cheers for that. I think I'd be better off sending it up to you experts to have a look see, as I said I wouldnt be in a rush to fiddle around with its innards. Unless of course youve any ideas about it?

Me ? Are you kidding ? I'm not allowed plug in the heater in case I break it.

If we can't sort something out via here, PM or email, best bet is send it up. If you're in Galway anytime soon, you could drop it in to the shop there - Martin and Evelyn pop up here every now and again and could bring it with them.

    Ha, fair enough.
Cheers for the help, last time I used it it just spat a load of gas out the barrel and has been for display only purposes since.

Ask Sterilus Addict here... he fixed Lemming's Garand so knows a thing or two about the guns. I'm sure he will spot this when he wakes from his beauty sleep.

Lemmings one had a very specific problem, the bearing on the hammer was lost.

If when you cock the charging handle, it does not cock the hammer, ie. it won't dry fire with a click noise, the hammer bearing is gone.

This would also lock the charging handle in a half forward position, if this isn't the case, the gun has a different issue.

As tony said, they'll sort it out for you anyway, it may be the striker valve is sticking or the seal is gone by the sounds of it.
