Deben are as good in build quality as Harris but in most occassions cheaper. I personally would go for the 9-13 and swivel (if available). I had a 6-9 on my CZ years ago but never really used the 6" position on the legs and even at 9 i found a few occassions where i needed more height. The 9-13 covers this nicely.

I use the 13-27 swivel @13 on my CZ 22lr style and find it fits me just right when shooting rabbits out in the field.

Not for me and I'm not big. I find anything shorter and you can't see over the grass or small undulations in the fields when prone. Also good for taking the sitting (sideways on legs crossed and up) shots with the left elbow resting over my left knee, and left hand clutching my right trousers just below the knee pulling knees together a bit and the bipod extended fully and stock end resting on my left forarm. Left hand on the right shoulder as when shooting prone. I'm right handed.

When laying prone a put my left hand on my right shoulder with the end of the butt resting on the soft part between my thumb and index finger, this makes easy aiming adjustments and steadies the rifle fine.

My head is not too high as when using the 6-9 Harris (but thats used for shooting from the bench). I would have to tilt my head at the wrong angle laying prone with the 6-9 and get a pain in the neck.

I find using the 13-27 Harris makes the 100m prone shots with the .22lr, and 150m+ shots with the .223 easy and comfortable

Whatever length you decide to go for IMO there is no substitute for a Harris Swivel Bipod.

I've tried the cheaper ones rockmount etc. and they really don't compare. The harris is well built, quiet and operates flawlessly.

I find 9-13" to be ideal with the odd ocassion of 13" not being enough but 10" usually being ideal for prone shooting. I'm 5'8 and 1/2 (that half is very important!)

Test out the correct height to use by stacking some books up @9", 13", and laying prone and rest your rifle on them.

    Easy NO!!!!

I think it originated from John Greene in Kilmacow Co. Kilkenny. Now if he made it or not I don't know.

It has a wide barrel channel (for the varmint model maybe), fully pillar bedded and only one bolt for the action. Fitted with a Bushnell 10x40 tactial scope and SAK mod.

Oh it groups and shoots well. :D
