I think that the headphone jack on my 3Gs has given up the ghost, was working grand this morning but when I tried to use my iphone this afternoon therte was no sound from the headphones. the speaker is grand, and cuts out when the headphones are plugged in, the song continues to play and stops when the headphones are unplugged.
    I have tried
    - 3 different known good headphones,
    - checking the jack for lint and blowing it out
    - resetting the iphone
    - wiggling it!

So I think that it is hardware at this stage. Any suggestions for a quick repair in Dublin or Bray?

if it's a 3GS it's still under warranty, call applecare.

Had my touch repaired under warrenty a couple of years ago, the new one is out of warrenty and the headphone is a little delicate can lose a channel if I move the headphone cable. Is there anyone that could fix?

Fenris, you should tell them the battery life isn't what it used to be and they'll put a new one in while they're at it and it will extend your battery life into the future.

I had this same problem, and found a place on Camden street that quoted me 40 euro to fix the headphone jack. This was after being quoted 75 elsewhere. In the end I got a replacement phone from apple under the warranty, so I ndidnt get to try out that shop, but they seemed reputable so I'd recommend them to anyone who can't get their phone fixed by apple for free. Don't k ow the name of the place but it's beside a barbers and opposite a west coast coffee.
