My G/F's contract is up next week and she wants a iphone 3gs.She has a sliver upgrade which she means she will get it for €200.

But new customers will get it for free on the 350 plan.

Could she port to VF pay as you go then go back to O2 bill pay and hence get the iphone for free?

I don't think so, as when you leave, as far as I know, they keep you on record for a couple of months, so if you return within that period, you are not regarded as a new customer.

You could just explain the story to them and ask will they just give you the new customer rate as the contract is up, I wouldn't be hopeful tho, as 02 are terrible to deal with and once they have any kind of hold on you, the will exploit it to the full.

Id say get an unlocked iphone and change network, or just get it with vodafone.

They are so incredibly unreasonable ...please don't renew with them.

When you give them 30 days notice that you are leaving them, I'm guessing they will ask you why you are leaving, they may change their mind when you tell them. Still, I'd tell them to stick it.
