    why couldnt it be easier

Simply because if it was any easier, you would be fed up with her and start to look for a bigger challenge. You may not realize this until you get your way thru an easy ride though.

Anyhow, try to keep 'text flaterring' to a minimum at this stage, but you should flirt/tease with her as much as possible. Keep it light and funny. Don't make yourself too honest and available, but keep her wanting to come back for more. You will know if she's interested. You can probe her by making something unexpected. If she's used to get a text from you immediately after she texts you, why not wait 2-3 hours and get back to her without any excuses for the delay? This will cause her to be thinking that you haven't replied and if she's interested already she may actually text you again in the next 2-3 hours.

Just a few random advices, none of this is a math formula - it's all about balance, but this works rather well in general. :)
