sorry folks if this query has been posted lots of time before, but i reset my sky box last night (turned it off for a min at the wall!) and now i cannot get a signal.

i rang sky who tried to fix it but to no avail, they cannot send an engineer because they didnt install it (apparently it was Finlay Communications... although this is the first i have heard of it)

i told them my contract was with sky not Finlay, but they ddnt want to hear it. now i have to wait until tomorrow to ring Finlay and get them out to fix the problem.

its a communal dish on an apartment block in Ranelagh.

anyone know of any way i can fix it? all help appreciated.

    cheers

Have you asked your neighbours have they a signal. It might be a cable problem, connection on the back of your sky box after comming loose or it could be a tuner fault in the sky box itself. Where you signed up for sky is where your warranty lies.
Sky wont send out a guy to sort out your problem when you did not sign up with them. The only thing sky sent you was your card to view the channels.

ya i signed up with sky, but i didnt know that they subcontracted it to finlay, this was news to me!

and the guy who installed it came in a sky van, with a sky t-shirt/jacket and the invoice says sky on the top of it!

anyway ya i have tried all the cables at the back of the TV & Box. i looks like its an issue with the box alright!

think it is just our apt!

its a pain, thanks for your help tho!

Well if you signed up for sky with sky directly over the phone your warranty is with sky, Ring them and explain this to them they should send out a contractor from either Finlays or Sierra communications. There is 3 ways to get sky installed. Sky themselves over the phone, Through an Agent let it be door to door sales /sky kiosk or through your local tv shop
