Missed Pill

    Heya guys

Just a bit worried about a missed pill. Myself and my partner both think we should be fine but here's what happened.

My GF vomited about an hour after taking her daily, 21 day cycle pill last Friday. According to her(although I thought otherwise), on this pill you just take it as a missed pill, continue on as usual and don't have sex for 7 days until you are covered again.

We didn't have sex until the following Friday(last night). As an extra precaution, we used a condom to be safe(I know people recommend using both all the time, but that's not really the issue here). Anyway, the condom burst so now we've been left in an awkward position.

The issues we are having are:
    a) Does taking the pill from Saturday to Friday cover you for having sex on that Friday?
    b) She was 2 days from taking her break from the pill i.e. in the last 2 days of her cycle so does that play in our favour?

Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks guys.

FFS you'd take the opinion of some randomer on the internet over the (clear) instructions that come in the packet, and her GP, and her local health centre/well women centre. The great myth that the pill fails regularily is just that - it's people like you that fail, than spread rumours that "my GF took the pill but still got pregnant". GET HER TO READ THE F***ING INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH THE PACKET AND CONTACT HER GP. SIMPLE, NO?

    Settle down man.
We've been using the pill for 5 years and we've never had an issue. We know the booklet from back to front. We aren't claiming the pill failed, if we were, then I wouldn't be typing this post 2 days after the incident.

The issues are in the threat vomiting brings to contraception, the divided medical opinions on the menstrual cycle and natural contraception and whether or not 7 days qualifies as 7 24 hour periods or 7 pills taken.

I'd prefer if you didn't bring your rant in to my personal issue thread and stop making assumptions about people you don't know. I'm a worried boyfriend, my partner isn't worried.

RTFM7834 ok clearly an emotive subject for you, but may I suggest, before you post again please take the time to chill, or the next one in that vein wont be approved. Thanks.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
