question about income tax

I had an idea to start a business, was going to finance it from earnings from my regular job. In the meantime I was laid off. In the meantime I have registered with CRO and Revenue for Income Tax.

When I applied for JSB I was asked what's the story with me being unemployed, but told them that the business never took off and they understood.

Now tried to sort out last year taxes (get back income levy, etc) and was told by Revenue that I need to cancel my Income Tax and was given a form to fill.

    And now:

Suprisingly, in their computer system it says that I registered in May '09, but it was September if not October when I actually did. Of course was told just to sign the form.

Now I am thinking: is there a chance I can get into any troubles for that?

    huh?

so you registered for income tax. Had no income and are no de-registering from income tax and you think you can get in trouble?

    In short. No.

the real question would be: why the hell they claim I registered in may '09 and is there a chance that by de-registering with a back-date I can get into any trouble

I understand that might look obvious to you, I just needed to be sure as it's my arse that is at stake :)

You don't have any liabilites. The date could be 2099 or 1999. It's not material if the liability is zero.
