I just installed microsoft office on my computer and am setting up Outlook for my emails.

The thing is, it's only downloaded emails recieved after I installed it. How do I get it to download all the old emails in my account, that are still online? I have gmail and hotmail accounts.

I know Thunderbird, which I used before, downloaded all my old emails (some of them go back to 2004) when I installed it.

Some of them are important to have. I'd like to be able to access them here at any time.

I've noticed as well, that if I've looked at my email online, then it doesn't download emails that have been read.

I assume it's a case of changing the settings to download both read and unread emails.
