    Anyone got any intelligence on the roads around Wicklow? Going for a spin tomorrow out that direction. I heard the Luggala side of the Sally Gap is impassable for a start.

    I dunno, but you should take Mockler with you to tow you along and help you find your way.

    Today I did:

    Dundrum - Glencullen - Pine Forest (after turning right at Johnnie Foxes, Ballybrack Rd thnk its called) - Cruagh Road - ViewPoint - Stocking Lane.

    Was fine, didnt try any higher up, went to phoenix park to test the lights in pitch darkness after that. Night riding rocks. No idea about further towards Wicklow.

    A fair few of us are meeting up 10am at Joe Daly's/LUAS intersection. Plan is to stick to the main road to Enniskerry, Roundwood, Laragh and then some will head back while others will try the Wicklow Gap. Wicklow Gap was fine a week after heavier snow last year and is listed by AA as clear. But we will be guided by conditions, first step is low-lying roads to Laragh.

    @Tonto- you have other plans?

    We were considering coming out on your spin instead. Depends on if the roads are looking icy.

    Roads are wet, not icy round my way now.

    Roads are icy around here but its not a heavy frost. The sun should clear it easily in the next hour or so.

    Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

    road is impassable from Kilakee to Glencree. Theres a thick sheet of ice covering it on that sharp descent on the right bend following the long straight stretch from the top of the climb.

    Enniskerry to Glencree is fine both routes up. Lots of debris still on the road, and potholes are generally no worse than normal (apart from that one bit of road that appears to have sunk on the Liam Horner climb - but its passable, and is clearly marked).

    Sugarloaf is fine up through Calary and onto Roundwood. Roundwood across to Enniskerry is generally ok, but theres a lot of sand/clay on the road in parts that need to be passed with care.

    Didn't venture up as far as SG after seeing the road between Glencree and Kilakee. I can't see how its passable. Still lots of snow up there.

    Attempted to get to SG yesterday at approx 4pm, From the Glencree side it is clear up to about half a mile to SG where there is still about a foot of snow on the ground and the road just disappears.....Maybe next week:)

    A big bunch from Wickla Tri Club went on their arses down around Brittas Bay back roads yesterday morning. It was frosty white along there.

    Did they crash exactly 7m apart?

    Situation hadn't improved much @ 14:30 this afternoon. My first spin up to SG and we had to turn back less than a k away. My mate said we'd have been able to see the signposts if it weren't for the fog enveloping it. Hit 70k today which is a new record for me! Nice way to christen the new Cayo..
