    Hi,

I couldn't find an answer to my question so apologies if this is duplicated.

I have a Lidl FTA satellite dish and standard reveiver.

I was wondering is it possible to change my receiver box to one which can receive the BBC and ITV HD channels on FTA? Is this possible?

    If so, any recommendations?

Highly unlikely as the provision of the channels you mention is done in co-operation between Freesat (not Freeview in this case) HD people and the receiver box manufacturers. Humax/Foxsat HD is a terrific box for freesat. I bought mine on satellitesuperstore.com, great value if you go to the trouble of comparing prices. Come back to the board if you get one and need help to set up.

It is possible, most HD FTA boxes can receive BBC HD and ITVHD.

    Thanks Martinjr,

Excuse my ignorance here, but Freesat gives a subset of all the FTA channels. I.e. you can receive the mainstream channels for free on a freesat reveiver?

So basically that is what I am looking for. Presumably you can get ITV and BBC HD with the Humax receiver?

Do I require 2 cables from my LNB to set this up?

Ok, Thanks for the replies folks. I think I'd prefer to spend a little extra to get the PVR ability also.

Just watching Stoke v. Arsenal on ITV HD - brilliant pic. There are over 100 channels on the Humax/Foxsat box but if you prefer to get other satellite channels it will allow you to do this from set-up but you'll have to point your disk to one of the other sats: 19.2E, Hotbird 13E etc
