    Hi all

Well ive been on a healthy eating buzz for the past few weeks and seem to have lost a few punds- ive cut out all junk (choccie, crisps, cola etc) and am now walking to work (just under 2miles in 20 min in the morn and evening) but despite all this i still think i look 3 months pregnants

Ive tried cutting down on bread and can manage for brekkie and dinner by having porridge and wheat free pasta etc in the evenings BUT my downfall is lunch

for the past 2 weeks ive been having soup for lunch-at this stage i cant even handle 1 more bowl

Where i work has a canteen so if i were to have dinner for lunch it is very dependent on what they cook-there isnt any microwave etc here so i cant bring in pasta and warm it up.

Also i must admit i am quite picky i dont like lettuce or tuna so that rules out salads for me to nibble on

just wondering if anyone has some bread free lunch ideas

Would you consider Oatcakes or Riveta - they're my bread supplement. I'm a big soup drinker on lunch myself- but deffo need something with it so I either make my own brown bread - which at least I know what is going into it, OR I have a few multiseed riveta! You might not be a fan of riveta but I find them yum and it's nice to get some of the goodness of the seeds from them too. Also v. good for fibre!

If this is a semi-Atkins related thing then you could try pitta bread stuffed with whatever healthy goodies you have. It's much lower in carbs than other breads - you can even have (I think) one a day on the Atkins diet itself.

Ploughman's salad is my go to lunch but can be a bit boring in the cold weather.

How about bringing in a little homemade stew? Just chuck some meat, vegetables a little butter, dried herbs and stock into a pot. Bring to the boil and then simmer at a very low heat for 2-3 hours.

Lamb gigot chops are very cheap, you can get 2 organic ones for less than 4 euro which will do for two portions.

firstly, if you REALLY have to have bread, buy spelt bread in a health food shop, it is very nice and actually tastes as good if not better than homemade brown bread. try making your own home made vegetable soup, vary it so you dont get bored. how come you cant handle any more soup but you could handle bread every day without any problems? try brown rice instead of pasta, im not a fan of pasta at all as I just dont find it filling!

Have you asked in the canteen to see if they'd put something in the microwave for you? You never know!

Sometimes I have chopped fruit with a bit of granola and natural yoghurt on top for lunch. If you bought a wide-necked flask you could bring in stew or bolognese or curry or any number of things.

It's a pity people think that way. In one of the restaurants in UCD there's a microwave you can use for free; it's great!
