Cheap flights to Thailand... Turkish Airlines?

    I'm looking to book flights to Thailand for August and on a budget. The cheapest I'm coming up with is with Turkish Airlines... Anyone know anything about this airline? Old planes? Dodgy service? It's gonna be a long flight and I would like to know a bit about the airline before I book the flights! Thanks!

    I've never flown with Turkish but I'm thinking of going to Singapore with them later this year, as they're coming up fairly cheap.

    Hint: Book directly at http://www.thy.com/en-INT/index.aspx - going through one of the online travel agents (Expedia, Ebookers etc..) is invariably more expensive for this airline, from what I've found.

    I flew with the a couple of years ago. Dublin-Singapore and Bangkok-Dublin. Planes were fine and the food was actually very good for airline food.

    I took the opportunity to break the journey in Istanbul for 4 days on the way over...great city.

    I have used Turkish AIrlines a few times in recent months between Bahrain - Istanbul - Dublin. I have found them very good to fly with. Their planes were fine and their services on aboard was excellent. I was highly recommend them.
