TED talk on string theory

I watched what I thought was an extremely interesting talk by Brian Greene on string theory. Having only studied physics at second level, and reading the odd popular science book I found his way of talking about it to be incredibly accesible and interesting.

I'm dying to know what the results of the experiment were (perhaps not dying, considering I haven't made any attempt to find out!). I read a bit about it at the time, although I tried to avoid the 'end of the world' rubbish. Have the researchers come to any important conclusions?

By the way, if anyone isn't familiar with TED you should really have a look around the website. Countless brilliant talks on all kinds of subjects.
