Hi all,

I was just wondering what everyones opinions on tactical vest/load bearing kit is?

I'm looking preferably a vest, that can hold at least 4 G36 magazines, and a pocket for "misc." a holster for an m9 and a spare magazine would also be nice.

I'd like somthing modular so I can change it around as i hope to be switching from CQB to open air quite frequently.

I'm open to any suggestions or opinions on kit. I keep hearing the name Pantac but their stuff is a lot of money.

    Cheers,

    Fireborn

Personally, I went and got a STANAG adaptor for my G36 (Flawless feeding) so I could have better access to pouches and mag availibility.

I got a war belt(internal belt needed) and braces, with 4 triple M4 mag pouches, a general pouch, a dump pouch and a double pistol mag pouch.

Cool in the summer, and holds all I need. Expensive though...

And I can always buy a MOLLE Bandoleer or light vest if I want more space?

I was recently given a Protac (I think) vest with PALS loops on it that came from Eirsoft - not sure if they're still doing them, but it seems to be decently put together, made of a nice mesh to minimise sweaty-gettery, and would hold everything you describe, which'll need to be sourced separately.

For pouches and such, Flecktarn is always a good place to start.

Well my first Vest/Webbing was just a set of 58 webbing. Great stuff and dirt cheap. You can pick up a full set for around €30 or even cheaper. I still use mine

If you click the button that says "Switch Editor Mode" when you hover over it (it's up in the top-right of the edit window, over the smilies) so that it's off (the text window should be white rather than grey) it'll take from what-you-see-is-what-you-get mode to code mode. Then when you use the "Insert Link" button the results will have the wording highlighted - it defaults to the URL but you can change it as you see fit.

Back on topic but incorporating the skillz above, I put a bit of basic info on load-bearing kit up on irishairsoft.info the other day.
Click these words
OR, when in advanced editor, type the text you'd like to appear.
Then highlight it and click on the little button viewed.php?file_id=173 and paste the web address into the box that appears.

I've tried a few options now and the one I have settled on is this:
    http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/fltav5nx.html

I wouldn't recommend this exact one but the style of vest is very comfortable and is light & flexible.

I've yet to find anything I prefer to my trusty old PLCE...

It's a matter of horses for courses I reckon, every system has pros and cons - try a few and when you find a setup you like run with it...

If you are going for a vest, I'd recommend one of the modular systems so you can set it up exactly how you like it.

+1 on the plce never fails and you can ad an endless variety of pouches, like molle but i hate molle vests

I like the web Tex rifleman vests, loads of space but fixed though, but if you remove the deviders in the mag poches ( there are 4) you will fit 2 g36 mags in each

TMC stuff on ebaybanned is top notch gear - as good as the Pantac/Flyye gear that it's a copy of. Great bang for your buck. As for rrv's in general I don't know as I've never used one but they do seem popular with people.
