I'm seriously considering purchasing a set of these bad boys, the Studio's. for around €300 on Apple. I'd rather go through Apple than risk getting fake one's on Ebay, especially for the some of money involved.

Anyway, I've been reading reviews and they've mostly all given these at least an 8, max of 9 out of 10.

Have any of you lot purchased these and what are your opinions on them?

one of my mate's got them, i had a blast a while back pretty nice peice of equipment but i dont think there worth the 300 mark if you ask me but my freind seems to think they are so i guess its just a matter of opininon.

just to let you know dre is also set to release diddy beats might be worth keeping an eye on too.

in other news dre is set to release detox in Neveruary 2010 :)

My cousin is a DJ and he has a set of these. I had a listen to them for the first time a few weeks ago and the quality and clarity is outstanding. I thought my Sony in-ear headphones were good, but the difference was literally night and day. I never thought I would say that €300 is a reasonable price for a set of headphones, but these are the business.

They have them in Dundrum - there's an electronics shop on the second floor (underneath G-Star) and they have them for €300. HMV have them for €315.

I remember there was this stand in BestBuy promoting them, put them on for a second. I tell you what; I've never heard anything like it. Amazing sound, expensive but if you have the money then why not?

I have some friends who are big into DJ'ing,he mostly play house, techno etc but still the same concept. Amyways don't know anbybody who could jusify that kind of money for earphones. These guys have the best of equipment Amazing quality? Yes, no doubt. but how serious are you about this business? There are alot more equipment that you could jusify spending that kind of money on. At the end end of the day, they are only earphones, make sure your mixer, turntables etc. are up to scracth first.

To the people in this thread saying they sound amazing what other high end headphones are you comparing them against?

I mentioned in my post that I was used to listening to my Sony in-ear headphones for my iPod. Not really a worthy comparison, but I'm not in the market for Beats.

my cousin has them, and they are outstanding.

Lets say, you have the vocals, hi-hat, snare, bass, kick on a track. it is like the headphones give them their very own "channel" (from 1-10 channels lets say) so you can hear each channel by itself, everything going at once with great clarity.

The vocal range is great too, it is like you are next to the artist singing, you can hear them taking breaths before they enter their verse, their range going up and down again. it is like HDTV but in audio.

Its a completely worthless comparison in fact, and everything I've seen written about Dre's headphones suggests they are overpriced.

    As I said, buy Sennheiser.

no idea about 'DJ' headphones but have always had Sennheiser headphones over the past couple of years which have been great. Got a present of a pair of Bose headphone at Christmas and they are superb in terms of sound quality, superior to the Senns which i found amazing. Highly recomended think they were around the 200 mark from the Dundrum store

Bose are a brand in particular that are notorious for being over priced. Out of curiosity what Senns are you comparing to the Bose? Are they similarly priced cans?

The Sennheiser are from the EH range, were just over a ton from what i can remember. I never would have bought Bose headphones as have always considered they seemed to be ridiculous money but the ones i have a are quality

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 pro that I got for a 100 or so euro. Work very nicely.

Who pissed in your cornflakes? I never said I was a DJ or an expert on headphones. The OP asked for opinions on Beats and I gave mine.

I've been looking for a new set of cans since my decent enough Sony ones packed up and left home about a year ago. In the meantime i've been using in ear ones (again Sony) with alot of wires showing through and i'm frankly amazed that they still work :D

Alot of my friends are DJ's and Producers and all have different recommendations but they all agree that you have to make a solid innvestment to get the best quality.

But then again, there is quality and there is your needs. Weight/Size/Shape/Design/Colour/Cable length/accesories.....there are a lot of different factors besides the sound.

So far, i've been leaning towards Senns and Bose. Bose have an amazing sound but asthetically they are not as pleasing.

    The search continues

Are links ok to post? If not it can be deleted. http://www.bose.ie/IE/en/home-entertainment/headphones-and-headsets/bose-audio-headphones/bose-on-ear-headphones/index.jsp

They seem to be the Bose ones i have at the moment, much smaller than my Senns (cant find a link for them...). They are very comfortable and have 1 wire only from the left earphone.

I think I'm going to go for the Beats.

I'm not a DJ or anything but I love my Rap and Hip-Hop music. I'd also love the "Is he wearing Beats?" whilst I'm walking around Airports, College etc :p

Ask can you try out a few different pairs in the shop before you commit to buy.
Try them out on songs you're familiar with. There's a good chance they'll let you try them out before you buy because they're not in ear phones.

I know when I bought my first pair of Senns in Tower Records in Dublin they let me try them out first.
