    1: compaq presario (17'') €570
-intel pentium dual core T4300(2.1Ghz,800Mhz,1MB Cache)
    -4gig RAM
    -320GIG hard drive
    -LED screen

    2:Acer 5740 (15.6'')€550
    -intel Core i3-330m processor (2.13Ghz, 3MB Cache)
    -3gig RAM
    -250 gig HARD DRIVE
    -HD LED Screen

    or

    3: Toshiba (15.6'')€500
    -intel dual core 2.2Ghz
    -4gig RAM
    -500gig hard drive

All come with windows 7. Hard drive size isn't that important to me, just want something responsive for web surfing, running MS Office etc... also screen size not that important, as long as its 15''+

Please , any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Is the new intel core i3 processor better than both the dual core and the core 2 duo? Should I be going fir this one(the acer)?

What graphics do they have ? I think this a huge part people overlook, and even basic notebook graphics can do some pretty impressive stuff these days.

17" inch laptops are nicer too if its just sitting at home on a desk anyway, if you plan on taking it around alot then the 15" is the way to go. You tend to get more bang for your buck from the 17" too, but that depends, in this case its not huge.

I got my father an inspirion 17" with the ATI card recently, it worked out at about €550 and its a brilliant machine.

Thanks so much for the quick reply( supposed to be buying tomorrow)...

The compaq has an "intel media accelerator,4500HD, graphics memory up to 1695 mb"

the acer, well it just says "Graphics card: integrated"... Full spec here:http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/939939#productInformationSection

and the toshiba has.. Actually it doest say...

So which one is best? Is the new processor in the acer something special?

    Thanks
