    Okay i'll bite...

Whats the "launch"? An unveiling or a catapulting?

Either way it sounds interesting, they're beautiful cars.

    So it is.

Only had a brief look but I do like:
Adhering to Sir William Lyons' maxim of "grace, pace
    and space"

    :D

The only classic I've had that was a disappointment. If you're ever looking for one make sure you get one with power steering

The Mk2 ran until 66, but was followed by the S-type and the 420, which both ran until 1968.

In 1966, Jaguar/Daimler first merged with the BMC group, which had the Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolsely and MG, becoming the British Motoring Holding, and in 1968 they merged with the Leyland group to form British Leyland... The XJ saloon was the first 'true' BL product for Jaguar.

It was followed by the 240 and 340!

I remember unloading a Mk2 outside the garage one day, the tow truck driver said "Great to see the Golden oldies still around, remind ya of Inspector Morris wha!?"
