Macbook Issue

    Howdy,

My Girlfriend recently bought a new Macbook on holiday in New York. It is working away perfectly, a great machine, she is using her iphone plug as a replacement to the standard US one.

However, she noticed something the other day. The outer case of the screen (the side with the illuminated apple symbol) as become discoloured. She initially thought it was isolated to one corner of the casing and assumed that someone had spilled perfume or wine on it or something. But i had a close look and it seems that the damage is all over the screen casing.

The white casing is now speckled with tiny black marks and there are very faint brown lines running across it.

I did a quick google and it doesn seem to be common fault. But i remember hearing that something similar happened with the white iphone.

It seems that the heat from the screen has damged the back of it. If i contact apple what kind of recourse am i likely to get, and will the fact that i bought it abroad make any difference...

Macbooks have a world-wide warranty. You shouldn't have any problem.
