Suggestions on Villa to rent?

Hi, Really want to get away this year but dont think I can afford to do it through travel agent, so a friend suggested renting a villa and getting flights on their own but would love it if someone could recommend a place that is close to beach & town etc somewhere lively.. this really does work out a lot cheaper:)
