I know its probably not the best time with them being on strike recently to ask but does anyone know how to become an airtraffic controller?
    Do they recruit often?
Are there any things you can do to improve your chances of getting in?

    Thanks for any help

    Information here:
    http://www.iaa.ie/index.jsp?p=382&n=383

From what I've read and heard it's almost impossible to get in,
There was a thread here last year where applicants were posting their progress through the selection / interviews.

No, that thread was for Ballygireen radio officers. Quite different.

But watch this space. There may be vacancies soon the way things are going!

You register your interest by sending them an email, and they'll send you out an information package a few days before they advertise in the national press.

Its not easy at all to get in, its one of those jobs where you either have it or you don't.
I was on work experience down there and it is a great place to work, and despite the bad press that the workers are getting these days, they were great to me, very helpful and I would love to work there with them. I travelled down from Galway to Shannon every morning at half 8 and back at half 5 for two weeks and I looked forward to it everyday. Best of luck with it and pm me if you want about any questions:)
