A friend of mine is arriving in to Bristol at 21:30 on Saturday night for the Gloucester Marathon on the Ryanair flight from Dublin and is returning on Sunday at 19:10 from Bristol and was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing either of the taxis to/from Gloucester with him. If you private message me an email address or mobile number I will forward you his contact details so ye can make your own arrangements. The fare each way is approximately £50 to £60 so obviously he would be keen to half one or both of these if at all possible.

Why bother with a taxi? There's a train from Bristol Airport at 22:15 and plenty of trains coming back on the Sunday. The cost? A mere £24.60...http://www.buytickets.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/ticketmatrix.aspx?Command=TimeTable

Thanks for that. The problem however is that the 10:15pm train takes 3hours 25 minutes and gets in at 1:40 in the morning. The return trains on Sunday are deffinitey worth a look.

There is no train from Bristol airport.

You will have to get the flyer coach into Temple Meads then get on a train. This is approx 30 mins.

Why not hire a car? Have a look at the link from the Ryanair website. I am sure it wont be as expensive as a taxi. Infact €46 for the day (Sat night to Sun night).

Also there is only one taxi firm at Bristol Airport so you are stuck with their prices. I think they are called checkercabs. Unless you know a taxi firm in the area who you can ring to come and pick you up in the arrivals car park as no taxis are allowed to park in front of the terminal.

I'm flying in to Bristol Friday and out Saturday with a few others for a race down on the south coast. We're renting a car for about 100 Euro for 2 days with full insurance cover. There are cars for as little as 34 Sterling a day with easycar.

Its pretty straight forward to be honest. 45 min flight. 20 min coach ride and 55 min train. Sure it would take you longer to get to roscrea from Dublin via buseirann. Didnt know there was many Irish doing the Gloucester marathon. Hope to see a couple of you guys over there.
