    Hi,

I've spent all day filling out a job application online. I really want it!! It is one of those fill in the boxes ones and I hate them.

Anyhow it is asking for my GPA (grade point average) for my degree and masters result but I have no idea how to calculate GPA. I googled it and there's no way to trasfer % to GPA easily as it requires the contact hours for each subject (no idea!!!)

It wont let me type in 'First Class Honours' as it wont recognise the format and it's the only box I need to do so I can submit!!! And I cant submit it with empty values either!

    Help!!!!!

I hate writing cover letters, but I hate these forms even more :) Maybe try phoning to see if you can apply another way. Is this for a job outside of Ireland? Normally on those forms when you select the country the options become more flexible.

Yeah well it's a global company but even when Ireland is selected it stays as gpa! Driving me mad as it's the only thing I need to complete the application!

This website provides a grade conversion for different countries. If you select Ireland, it gives a number of percentage ranges, and letter grades that match.

    e.g. 70-100% = A

Based on that, and the fact that a 4.0 GPA is equivalent to an A, I'd say you could put in 4.0.
