We're off tomorrow at 3, aerlingus to Lanzarote. I'm sick as a pig. First foreign holiday in three years for the family, the kids are going to be gutted. Flip sake. Does anyone know where we stand with getting reimbursed off the airline. I have travel insurance. Off to check that. fup fup fup

Check the aer lingus website. You can change your flights free of charge.

I was supposed to be off to Amsterdam for a bit of a break, too see family, and also go for a Job Interview, funnily enough for a position in the HQ of an airline (i wont say which :D)

Was flying with Air Cheapo (Ryanair) to Eindhoven and getting the train due to budget restraints. Followed the link on their site to rebook, selected the flight on Thurs (for which they do have availability), to find out its not confirmed until I get an email saying so  Needless to say no email yet

Gonna phone them in the morning to follow up. Interview is on Friday, and I really want the Job, so if I don't get anywhere I'm gonna have to book with Easyjet and fly from Belfast, at a cost of €300 return

Just watching this on six one, it's not looking good. They reckon more strikes on the horizon.

Before this turns into a thread I end up locking...

Please keep this thread factual and focus on what effects the action is having on travellers, the rights of those affected and what you can do if your flight is cancelled or delayed.

If you want a rational discussion of the industrial action itself head to the aviation forum. If, on the other hand, you prefer to call it a strike or throw numbers around accompanied by angry faced emoticons, there are three threads for that on AH at the moment.

My apologies, I am travelling from Dublin Airport in 10 days time and this "industrial action" sure is great news. :)

I'm travelling too ( once with family and again a couple of weeks later as a tour organiser) so I'm not thrilled by the prospect either. I'm just asking to tone down the ranting and stick to the facts. It's much easier to deal with issues when everyone is rational.
