ok having been watching world's strongest man on Bravo I have a quick query, is the bar higher off the ground then a standard deadlift? or is there even a standard height for the bar in strongman deadlift?

    random example of strongman deadlift

I think a deadlift with 20kg plates is about 8.5" off the ground, there are some different setups used in strongman, and I think they are generally between 12-18"

The deadlift frame bar can be 12-18inches depending on the comp however because you are lifting using a frame the movement is slightly different which can be good or bad i find it doesnt help me but the bar height does help also the deadlift using the side handels is way different and slightly more like a squat
