corrector of exams

    i couldnt find a thread on this so sorry if there is one already. i was wondering do you have to be qualified to correct exams. i am in 4th year in my teaching degree so hopefully i will be qualified this year so could i apply to correct the summer exams

    The closing date was in December, but it might be worth writing to the SEC anyway in case they need people to fill in.
    Whether you would be used would very much depend on your subject, but no harm give it a try.

    I would assume you would need to be qualified in the subject to correct state exams. I'm open to correction (excuse the pun;))

    don't think it a specific requirement but i presume an unqualified person with no previous experience would be at the back of the queue.

    Would you need to be qualified for junior cert ordinary level? I suppose it's a case of supply and demand. If there aren't enough qualified teachers to correct a certain subject they go for the unqualifieds

    They have certainly used unqualified people in the past.

    This year with so many teachers losing jobs and hours I'd say they won't be stuck for people, but depending on subject, you never know.
