We have just had UPC installed today - (Dublin 10) is it normal for some channels to be totally unwatchable - like sky news in fact many of the sky channels are totally broken up and the music channels - before i call them out again im wondering if it takes a little time for them to settle down? It's digital+ by the way and the engineer told me he used the old sky cable to connect rather than drill a new hole in the wall?????

    suggestions please!!

Oh and the remote - i mean, is that normal?

Yes its normal. Thats the difference between cable and satellite..
i had Sky for 3 years and never experienced a single picture breakup, whereas on UPC it seems to happen every 10 minutes.

It can happen with satellite tv. It is always a problem at the customers end though.

Not correct. Dont give such information simply because you had sky.

It can happen to a cable or sattellite connection (and I have seen that). I have UPC for 5 years now. In those years I had choppy pic one time and another time it was some sound problem. Nothing to do with my connection, it looks like there was some problem with the software update of the digital box or some area specific problem. Both time it got sorted in few days automatically. Altough I did give a call to UPC.

So why not give them a call to find if theres a problem in your area.
