REPS Payment Problem

Spoke with the department this morning concerning status of my REPS payment for 2009 as haven't received one cent yet, they tell me that there is an issue with their computer system something regarding its ability to deal with the soil nutrient calculations and that a lot of people have their payments held up because of this. I find this unbelieveable, I then asked what I needed to do to progress matters and they explain to me that it is up to the department to resolve , just wondering has anybody any experience of this and did they get anywhere with resolving this?

Is the hold-up affecting REPS 3 payments aswell or is it just REPS4?

Yeah, my Dad had a problem before Christmas.

About 3 days before payment was supposed to be issued he received a letter stating that there was a problem with one of the boundaries regarding forestry.

They had the plans for a long time but due to holidays then in the run up to Christmas he found it hard to talk to someone that wanted to talk to him, if you catch my drift.

Still have not received payment as of yet.

From secondary information I understand that this is a problem which has been there for a while and not just a 24 hour problem with the computer system. I also work in industry and if there was something wrong with the systems I am overseeing which wasn't rectified by me I would get the door out. A question to the planners is there not uproar amongst your clients because of this? due to the incompetent person/persons within the department farmers are squeezed from a cash flow point of view as if things aren't bad enough in the agri sector. Is there any point bringing this to the attention of any of the farming organisations?

Problem is with farmers who either don't keep cattle for the winter or don't house them and therefor have no slurry or FYM to spread, the ereps system wont allow us to properly calculate the amount of chemical phosphorous allowed. The checking system used by the Dept is picking these up as erroneous P calculations by the planner but the planner can't correct it as it is systems error on the ereps. Going on for months now and very frustrating for all concerned. Unfortunately some of the people close to the ereps baby are in denial that their kid could cause any problem. Until there is acknowledgement of the source of the problem we are unlilkey to see any solution

Quick question on this I keep cattle, house and spread slurry so how am I caught by this glitch?

The solution must be then to lodge a hard copy plan of this calculation is it not?

Inquired about my payment back in Nov and was told that there was a problem - something to do with my SFP not matching. I knew what the problem was - hadn't removed the REPS habitat from the SFP form. Dropped my Teagasc planner and now have a private guy. It's been a great decision as he took ownership of the problem and had it resolved within a week. Now waiting for the map to be "digitised" and told to expect payment in Feb - but the above thread tells me not to expect anything too soon ............ every possible delay is being added to this process!

Yippee ......... REPS4 payment in my account yesterday morning! Only 75% paid when I was expecting 100%. Called the local Dept office and was told that the remaining 25% would be paid out in a few weeks. Really can't see why the damned government can't just pay out on time and give people a fighting chance to turn a buck.
