Constant Windows Error Tone

    I was check a partition on my HDD for errors but cancelled it about 1/5th of the way through. Now there is a constant Windows error tone playing. Any ideas why?

    What was causing it?

    Had a memory card half plugged in. It was the noise that comes up when you plug it in
