    hi there guys,

having been reading the papers lately and in the last few days especially about the thug who shot the men dead in pearse house and the way he has shown utter contempt for the law has really pi$$ed me off, he pulled his trousers down to the judge and told him to "spank that hairy arse and suck it hard" ok so when he gets life then we have to put him in prison and pay 40 or 50 gand a year to keep him there,

Why not just bring back the death penalty and get rid of him and save the state a load of money,
the amount of murders in recent times is DISGRACEFUL... these guys think they can do wat they want, I'm sure if the death penalty was in they would think twice before stepping out to kill another human being, so far this year 6 people have been murdered, thats one every 3 days, if that was to carry on all year there would be over 1000 death's at the end of this year

Bring back the death penalty for these scum !!!

I would also include scum like Joe O'Reilly and that inbred scumbag Ronnie dunbar

Would you vote to bring back the death penalty for murderer's ??? 113 votes

i think it's more like 90 grand a year OP.

death penalty won't be reintroduced because there're too many pinko fcuks that haven't been the victims of crime who think everyone can be rehabilitated.

i don't really support the death penalty myself - i think concentration camps are a fantastic idea. joe o' reilly out with a wheelbarrow helping improve the m50....

i also think that gangsters in particular should be dealt with through the special criminal court, as i see no difference between them and the cira cnuts.

Maybe we should bring back the death penalty for people who can neither spell gangster nor realise that one murder every 3 days equals 122 a year rather than 1000.

Enhance the gene pool a bit.

No. Humanity should be trying to progress. Not regress.

Make prison a living hell of daily manual labour maybe!

The criminal system should be about rehabilitation. Not an out of sight, out of mind mentality. I'm reluctant for the death penalty in a widespread form, but yes, there certainly exists a certain criminal mentality that ought to just be put out of our misery.

Ah apperently its "unhumane" You'l see the some pansies posting here about how we should not be judges about who lives and dies.

Well, i happen to be a direct decident of jesus.

With that in mind, ive decide that the piece of human scum in question should be shot. I'm not joking, this is NuReligion 3:16. My reasons for this are clear. I'm just right. End of story. Anyone who disagrees with me has no genitals and that's why they're angry.

Less would be found guilty then as a jury would s**t themselves that they were condemning a man to his death.

It costs more to execute someone than it does to imprison them for life. Well there's that and the fact that we're trying to move society forwards, not backwards. If you want to live in a country that allows execution, move to Iran or America or somewhere.

Because no-one has the right removing someone from this planet, no-one. Death is an easy way out for criminals.

Make the prisons tougher. No TV, no newspaper, one meal a day, one glass of water a day. No recreational activies, no games room, no visitors. Strict protocols, any rules broken, conditions get tougher. Prisoners used to clean the streets. In chains. No wage. Lights out at 2100.

The crime still happens in ireland. Moving to america would merely be a pointless decision. It's not moving society forward, he's just moving house. Made a complete of cock of that one didn't you? Bravo.

Lifetime imprisonment until they die would be more suitible IMO, however I voted yes to the death penalty too because prison to me is not good enough. Criminals aren't afraid of prison, on the contrary they actually see it more as a right of passage or just a way to boost your repuation. If there was a death sentence the prisoners would be scared sh!tless of being arrested.

Only primitive and barbaric countries like China, Saudi Arabia, Iran and the United States of America execute criminals.

I'll take rational European justice over those dives any day.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the "tent city jail" to save Arizona from spending tens of millions of dollars on another expensive prison complex.

He has jail meals down to 20 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He banned smoking and pornographic magazines in the jails, and took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but "G" movies.
    He says:
"They're in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave."

He started chain gangs to use the inmates to do free work on county and city projects and save taxpayer's money.

Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails.

So he hooked up the cable TV again but only allows the Disney channel and the weather channel.
When asked why the weather channel, he replied:
"So these morons will know how hot it's gonna be while
they are working on my chain gangs."

He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them:
"This isn't the Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back."

He also bought the Newt Gingrich lecture series on US history that he pipes into the jails. When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied:
"A democratic lecture series that actually tells the truth for a change would be welcome and that it might even explain why 95% of the inmates were in his jails in the first place."

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd 2007), the Associated Press reported: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed wire surrounded tent encampment
at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.

On the Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts were
overheard chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees.

"This is hell. It feels like we live in a furnace," said Ernesto Gonzales, an
inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go. "It's inhumane."

Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches,
    is not one bit sympathetic.
"Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for parole, only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves."

The same day he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat
    in the tents:
"It's between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers
are living in tents too, and they have to walk all day in the sun, wearing
full battle gear and get shot at, and they have not committed any crimes,
    so shut your damned mouths!"

Way to go, Sheriff! If all prisons were like yours there would be a lot less crime and we would not be in the current position of running out of prison spaces.

Sheriff Joe was just re-elected as Sheriff in Maricopa County , Arizona

The power to end people's lives is too great for any person to handle responsibly (that's providing some people do deserve death-which is questionable). Surely it's just the same for society if someone guilty of multiple murders is locked up forever.

You have to make laws in such a way as to protect the common person from abuses of power. Not granting the government power over the life and death of it's citizens is a tiny price to pay to ensure much bigger injustices never occur.

I used to be in favour of the death penalty, and I still am in theory - I truely believe if you take an innocent person's life you forefeit your own right to life, however, the justice system isn't perfect and there is always the chance that an innocent person can be wrongly put to death.

Take America, for example, who have capital punishment. There are many cases of innocent people being put to death.

Even if you think capital punishment is a good thing in theory, could you really endorse bringing it back considering it will inevitable result in an innocent person being put to death?

These guys already face the death penalty from rivals on a daily basis, and these ways of execution are a hell of a lot more brutal than anything the State could get away with.

There's no way in hell it would act as a deterrent to these people.
