    Hi folks,

Can anyone recommend a red targeting laser?

I've seen flashlight/lasers in one on eHobby - are they any use?

I'd like one that has decent battery life, can anyone recommend one?

The best targeting laser for airsoft is none. They just give your position away.

have to agree with ozcam on this one, in the real world most of the time if there used there used for intimidation to make people give, the image of little red dot where the shot will land is ingrained in people minds and can help at time avoid violance, in airsoft manly for looks, adds extra weight and will normal give away your position

For practical gameplay purposes I have to say I found mine pretty useless but it's still fun for target shooting etc. I've yet to try it in an indoor game where it might actually serve some purpose. AN/PEQ-15 replica with light and laser, got it on qualityairsoftsupplies. The Swiss Arms one is pretty nice too but quite small, no? Depends on what its for I suppose.

They are a bit of fun and a novelty, I've never used one though practically.

Ebay, dealextreme, these sorts of places have cheapo lasers, then there are the nicer laser light combos for pistols, swiss arms as mentioned above.

All for looks and cool factor really.

Probably should have mentioned that I got mine for purely aesthetic purposes :D

Absolutely... and if an occasion comes along where it has some gameplay use... total bonus :-)

i'm not sure but do they use infra red ones in real life?

For what it's worth, I've found them quite handy indoors a number of times. Very quick target acquisition, and highly intimidating - sometimes moreso than actual suppressive fire.

Yeah for designating targets and use with IR goggles as the enemy cant see them, well, assuming you start all your wars with third world countries and the enemy doesn't have ir goggles too.

Why would you want to start a war in any other place? The weather is nice and warm, the scenary is beautiful, and the enemy don't have planes, so they can't bring the wars to your houses. It's a win win win

they dont have planes? even hear of hijacking?:pac:
